Push the Resource Protection button to open the module in order to Add and Delete
(remove) protection for application data, password files, game accounts and other
sensitive data.
Add Resource Protection
This is a simple, 2-step process - first add the application or process and then add the
associated items containing sensitive information that you want protected and
isolated.
Step 1
Add new process(or application .exe): push the Add
new process button.
The selection window will open - click Add new process or Add application.
Windows Explorer will open - select the process or application to add - click Open.
Click OK.
And click Apply!
Step 2
Select a Process from the List (it will be highlighted
now).
Add new file, folder, registry key: push the
Add new file...button
Adding files, folders and registry keys is basically the same as in Step 1. Windows
Explorer will open and you can select the item that you want to add. Click OK - Click
Apply.
First we added the (process) application 'Digsby IM' then on the right hand side of
the screen, we added the Digsby Application Data folder.
Add registry key: DefenseWall opens a dialog window to click
through to select a
key(s); continue through the usual steps.
Delete (Remove) Protection
Delete protected process: push the Delete
process record button.
This will remove all the processes files (right pane).
The selection window will open - select the process to be removed. Click OK. Click Apply!
And click Apply!
Delete protected file/folder/etc: push the Delete
file, folder... button.
Deletion (removal from list) is basically done the same as above. Processes will not
be removed, just the files you have selected for deletion.
Note: Resource
Protection is enabled by default. DefenseWall automatically
monitors the default (built-in) protected resources once per minute. It cannot be
switched off.
